Part 7. Come-On, Diets Don‘t Work! What Does Make Your Program any Different?

by Konstantin Monastyrsky

Reasonable people ask reasonable questions. Indeed, if you already have failed one or more weight loss diets, why would this one perform any better? Pretty simple — my program outperforms popular diets because it doesn't overpromise and doesn't make the same logistical, clinical, and physiological errors that they routinely do. Watch on...

Greetings,

In this episode I will address the question that invariably comes up after people learn about my weight loss program, and particularly about its “no fail” claim.

— Come on, Konstantin, diets don‘t work. What does make your program any different?

Well, I actually agree with this unfortunate observation. Popular diets, indeed, don‘t work for most people. On top, all diets, even very brief ones, reduce energy and structural metabolism by turning on the “hibernation” gene — our evolutionary response to hunger and deprivation.

That is why so many people end up piling up more and more fat after each successive diet, as was the case with the collaboration between Kristie Alley and the Jenny Craig diet [link], or Oprah Winfrey‘s well-documented rollercoaster with dieting [link], and with so many other public figures and celebrities.

So let me address this “diets don‘t work” paradox head on, and explain the differences between my “ no fail” weight loss program, and the well known diets, such as the Atkins Diet, Ornish, South Beach, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem, and so many others:

First, unlike heavily promoted weight loss diets, my program is not designed or intended for vanity reasons, which is what cosmetic weight loss actually is, but for reversing and preventing metabolic disorders, which is what obesity, pre-diabetes, and type 2 diabetes are. When using this approach, the weight loss itself is not the end goal, but simply a serendipitous benefit of gradual healing and recovery from these undeniably morbid conditions.

Second, unlike all prominent weight loss diets, my program recognizes that accomplishing complete and permanent weight loss is a difficult, unglamorous, and slow enterprise, and that you cannot attain lasting weight loss on a “luxurious diet” that consists of four delicious meals and two satisfying snacks daily.

Third, unlike fad diets that rely on a simplified one-diet-fits all approach, my program recognizes that weight loss is not just a matter of consuming less calories, but is also a complex hereditary, environmental, cultural, gender, and age-related phenomenon, and that eating less is only one part of “no fail” weight loss.

Fourth, unlike diets that rely on frenetic pep talk to overcome ravaging hunger, incessant cravings, and run-away appetite, my program concentrates on eliminating these mind-altering conditions first. You really cannot lose weight while chained to your fridge.

Fifth, unlike popular weight loss diets that begin with the immediate restriction of calorie intake, my program begins by eliminating the primary causes of your persistent inability to lose weight, such as elevated levels of insulin, unstable blood sugar, low rate of energy metabolism, systematic undernutrition, anemia, and some others. You cannot attain a normal weight without reversing these conditions first.

Six, unlike deceptive diets that promote easy to attain initial weight loss, my program specifically concentrates on the loss of body fat. I explain the striking differences between these two radically different approaches in the “How To Overcome A Weight Loss Plateau and Ensuing Diet Failure” episode.

Finally, seventh, unlike weight loss diets that are built around menu planning, calorie counting, cooking, and eating, my program is built around your personal health history, weight loss goals, and innate ability to lose weight.

For those and many other critical reasons my program relies on meticulous attention to detail, thorough planning, and start to finish professional counseling. Accordingly, it is executed in the following four sequential steps:

Step #1 is assessing your health and weight loss history. Based on the information you provide in the Health History Questionnaire, your counselor will be able to determine and calculate the approximate duration of transitional and reduced calorie diets, preempt some of the probable obstacles, eliminate diet spoilers, normalize metabolism to enhance the rate of weight loss, and so on.

These findings become the core of your personalized weight loss plan. Going into an extended weight loss program without such a preliminary workout is like trying to fix a car blindfolded.

This brings us to Step #2 — a detailed interview and discussion of your weight loss objectives based on the information provided in the Questionnaire and determined by the Plan. This step is required for developing a transitional diet that matches your personal preferences, your health history, and weight loss goals.

Starting a weight loss program without a meticulously executed transitional diet, however long it may take, is just as practical as using Tylenol to treat heartburn — this may blunt the burn for a while, but eventually will hurt even more.

Next, we proceed to executing a transitional diet, or Step #3. The duration and complexity of this step are both determined during the prior two steps, and adjusted in the process.

Your age, gender, height, body morphology, rate of metabolism, digestive health, medications, endocrine functions, and degree of compliance determine the length and the scope of the transitional diet.

A properly executed transition is especially important if you are already affected by pre-diabetes or diabetes for numerous reasons I already explained in the “Seven Steps Behind Weight Loss Program For Diabetes Reversal” episode.

We complete the program with Step #4 by finalizing and executing a reduced calorie diet. At this point you and I will be able to determine the actual content — meaning composition and calories count — of this diet.

Also, by that time, both of us will have a good understanding of your nominal nutritional needs, your rate of daily fat loss, the extent of your intolerance or tolerance for sustenance diet, and the degree of your compliance over the long term.

If all prior steps are completed well, and you are still relatively young and healthy, this last step runs itself out pretty much on autopilot. If not, or if there are any exceptions along the way, I will be standing by to make necessary adjustments to get you back on track.

After all is said and done, your inherent ability to lose weight, recover from diabetes, and rebuild health throughout these four steps boils down to a simple principle set forth by this elegant quote: “Success is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well.”

In other words, while you will be doing “ ordinary things,” such as eating less, my program assures that you will be doing them “extraordinary well.” [link]

To learn even more about what sets my unique weight loss program further apart from all other popular diets, please review the companion web page of this episode (See FAQ). There, you will find a list of answers to related questions, such as:

— Konstantin, I am convinced! How do I start with your program?

— But I don‘t have pre-diabetes or diabetes. Can I still use your program to lose weight?, or…

— What is the cost of your program?, or...

— How long does it take to complete the transitional diet in Step #3?

— How long does it take to complete the reduced calorie diet in Step #4?

— But what about my “hibernation” gene? How can I turn it off? Next...

— I was on many diets, and was never able to lose weight. Will your program be any different?

— Konstantin, regardless of diet, I was never able to lose the last 5 to 10 pounds. Will I be confronting the same problem on your program again?

— And, finally, do you guarantee results? Will I get my money back if I fail to lose weight?

And if all that is not enough, you will find even more answers on other pages related to my program. I really don‘t shy away from difficult, inconvenient, or controversial questions because, as one famous clothing retailer keeps repeating in its television commercials, “An educated consumer is our best customer! (Syms Corporation)

So, thank you for watching, and considering my weight loss program. I hope it will transform your body the same way it has transformed my own, and that you will remain slim, vibrant, and happy for the rest of your long and healthy life!

This time around, you finally can!
